I strongly believe that Art can work as a catalyst for change in communities. All subjects, issues and materials can be explored within art. I have worked with adults with learning difficulties, families, researchers, academics and individuals, all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Testimonies
"Angenita has worked with us on residential family Art weeks for many years. Her weeks are popular and well received by our visitors. She has also managed the restoration of an old pigsty into a Coastal Park, landscape designing the area and adding Art works. During her time here she has worked together with people from all backgrounds and abilities" Tim Fox, Manager Othona Community, Bradwell -on -Sea
"Angenita has designed and crafted several art workshops for our project, Resorting to the Coast. She created the workshops to suit our audience and listened carefully to the brief, coming up with fun events which also taught new skills for our audience in a joyful way. Angenita designed a series of art sessions with a group of young adults which combined our seaside history with the artistic process and the group created a beautiful set of embroidered scenes of the Tendring seaside towns. For our seaside event she involved the public in making a giant wind break with the seaside scenes painted on each panel and they loved joining in. Angenita delivered all our workshops within budget and on time and was a joy to work with!" Juliana Vandergrift, Resorting to the Coast. Tendring
"New Heritage Solutions had the pleasure of working with Angenita during the Harwich Haven: Surrender and Sanctuary Project, on both the World War One and Kinder transport parts of our project. Angenita is a wonderful and engaging art practitioner and without her we could not have worked with a community group to create the textile artwork and hold the WW1 themed community art exhibition that we did. The artwork which she helped to create was seen by the KTA on their visit to England and was greatly appreciated by both the original Kinder and the 2nd and 3rd generation visitors we had. They were thoroughly impressed by the art inspired by their own memory quilt and this shows Angenita’s attention to detail and her thoughtful approach. The feedback we got from those who took part was overwhelmingly positive, with many learning lots of new things about our town’s local history and the way it was part of a much larger event back before the outbreak of World War Two.
As a team we would wholly recommend working with Angenita on any project as she is creative and fun, as well as a hardworking professional. " Sian Allpress, Harwich haven, Sanctuary and Surrender, Harwich
